What do I need to bring on a fishing trip?

Bring food, drinks (no glass please), sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, camera, deck shoes or tennis shoes, and motion sickness medication. Dress for the weather. It could be cool in the A.M., Hot in the P.M.


What is included in the price of the boat?

All of the bait, tackle, rods, reels, licenses are included.


Is there an ATM available?

Please remember there is no ATM or convenience store located in Willis Wharf.


Interested in fishing but don't have a full crew?

Ask about joining us as a "head" on a pick-up crew.


What time do we need to be at the dock?

Thirty minutes before the scheduled departure time. The captain will keep you informed.


How is the Mate paid?

Please remember that the mate works for tips. A really good mate can make all the difference in the trip. Some of his duties include rigging, bait, and tackle, putting out and maintaining a constant watch on the spread, keeping the cockpit in order, teaching first timers how to fish and helping the old salt with any new tricks or tactics that may make for a more successful trip. They usually arrive about one hour ahead of our scheduled departure time and may not leave until several hours after your gone. It is customary to tip the mate 15-20% of trip fee. Fish cleaning is available.


How far offshore will we go during a trip?

Depending on the length of your trip, we may venture anywhere from 10 to 20 miles on a half day trip, 60 to 70 miles offshore for full day and overnight.


When is the best time of year to go fishing?

Anytime! However species available do change with seasons and weather conditions. Consult the “What’s Biting Page” for your favorites.
